Downtown Farmers Market Now In Northeast El Paso
The Downtown Art and Farmers Market has changed names and locations, bringing all its art, local produce and other local goodies and gifts to Northeast El Paso.
Officially known now as "The Market", or "The Market at Cohen", it will now be located near Camp Cohen in the area once home to Cohen Stadium and the El Paso Diablos.
A grant from the United States Department of Agriculture helped facilitate the move from Downtown to the Northeast site, a little south of the US-54 - Trans Mountain intersection.
The Market at Cohen operates every Saturday from 9am - 1pm from now until the last week of September. According to KDBC:
City officials also believe the new location better accommodates a produce market and aligns with their plans to develop the Cohen area, as well as connecting military families from Fort Bliss to El Paso vendors.
“The move and rebranding creates a new energy for market vendors and visitors,” said Managing Director Ben Fyffe. “While the Market will move to Cohen, we will continue to program pop-ups and return Downtown for our major festivals including WinterFest.” cbs4local.com
