While many are buzzing about the new Hello Kitty store that will open up at the Shoppes at Solana, a new Japanese store is also making its way to El Paso.

Fans of the Japanese lifestyle brand, Daiso, will be happy to know that the brand recently filed a permit for El Paso. According to KFOX, Daiso-USA filed a "commercial alteration permit with the city of El Paso Friday to open its first Borderland outpost in the Sierra Court Shopping Center at 7410 Remcon Circle."

What is Daiso?

Daiso is a popular Japanese retail chain that sells a wide variety of household goods, kitchenware, stationery, and other items at affordable prices. The company is known for its "100 yen shop" concept in Japan, where most items are priced at 100 Japanese yen (equivalent to around 1 USD or less). Think of it kind of like a Five Below, which is also fairly new in El Paso.

Daiso stores are characterized by their bright and colorful interiors, neatly organized shelves, and an extensive range of products that cater to everyday needs. Over the years, Daiso has expanded its presence beyond Japan and now operates stores in many countries around the world.

In addition to its standard product offerings, Daiso often introduces seasonal and limited-time items, making each store visit a unique shopping experience. It's recently become quite huge on social media- which of course just makes all of us excited to finally get in in El Paso (the nearest Daiso to us is in Chandler, AZ.).

There's no word yet on when we can expect El Paso's very first Daiso store to open its doors, but I'm sure we can expect many fans to be there when it does open!
