VIDEO: Texas Southern Tuba Player Punches Unknown Fan, But Why?

The skill on the football field is always unmatched isn't it? Not only do we get dazzling football action, but you get to enjoy live music as well! A winning combination if you ask us.

Much like the football team, marching band members practice day and night for one chance to have a perfect performance on the field and in the stands. The reason I know this is because I know the effort, I participated in marching band in Georgia and Alabama for 9 years.

However, a recent video has surfaced, where a marching band player punched an unknown. But I have some questions about it.

The recording of the incident first appeared on X:

As seen in the clip above, the individual is seen yelling at the unknown Tuba player, which in turn, the member threw punches and knocked the unidentified man down. Due to no audio in the video, no one really knows the full context of the situation.

However, there's a few things I'd like to say.

Before we go any further, I do not condone the actions of the tuba player. However, I am more than willing to defend his actions. There's certain reasons why I am willing to do so.

First, while it may not be possible to hear what the person is yelling at the marching band member, it is very possible that it was something derogatory. In addition, the fan was inching closer and closer to the member.

At some point, he was simply too close. Which, in turn, posed a threat to the members' safety. While some may argue that the player could've simply ignored the individual, the fan could've very well swung first.

I sincerely hope that marching band member learns from the experience and is allowed to remain in the band. At the time of writing, the video has prompted an investigation by Texas Southern:
