Amarillo Loses a Favorite: The Brunch Truck Cafe Closes
2026 has been such a trying year in Amarillo. Families are struggling to make ends meet; costs are rising across the board when it comes to material items, not just luxury items. I'm talking about the cost of gas, groceries, etc.
It's not just families having a hard time. Businesses are finding it harder and harder to keep their doors open. All of it is directly related to the rising costs. It's more expensive to keep the doors open, and consumers aren't spending money the way they used to.
Another Amarillo Business Closes
Well, a shocking development has happened in Amarillo, and it truly took me by surprise. Not because another business was shutting it down, but because it was seemingly a very successful business with a stellar reputation.
We have people here at the radio station that love this place, say it's one of the best places they've ever eaten at, and would even DoorDash it to the station while on the air. But after five years, they've made a shocking announcement.
The Brunch Truck Stops Rolling
You read that right...The Brunch Truck Cafe is turning the engine off after five great years in Amarillo. It feels like it came completely out of left field, because I hadn't heard anything that said this one was in trouble.
In the post from Paul Olivarez, there was no reason given as to why they decided to shut down The Brunch Truck Cafe. They offered their thanks and apologies for closing, and there will undoubtedly be many who will miss them, including me. Thank you for some absolutely amazing meals over the last five years! You will be severely missed!
