(Austin, Texas) COTALAND, a new 30-acre amusement park at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, opens to the public on September 26, featuring 30 rides and attractions. The park's signature coaster, Circuit Breaker, is the only tilt coaster in Texas, tilting riders 90 degrees toward the ground before reaching speeds of up to 60 mph.

When Does COTALAND Open in Austin?

COTALAND will be open to the public from 4 to 10 p.m., and tickets for opening day are already available. The new park is situated right outside the action at the Circuit of the Americas track, at turns 19 and 29, and will feature 30 new rides and attractions.

What Rides Are at COTALAND?

Thrill seekers will get their thrills on the only tilt coaster in Texas. Circuit Breaker will hold riders at a 90-degree tilt facing the ground, pause, then release the train. It then speeds through tunnels, dives, inversions, and more, reaching up to 60 mph. The park includes one other thrilling roller coaster, Palindrome, along with family-friendly rides. There are tower swings, drop coasters, water rides, go-karts, and more.

When did Circuit Breaker open at COTALAND?

COTALAND debuted Circuit Breaker in October 2025 during the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix. The coaster has already operated during special events, but September 26 will mark the first time the public gets full access to COTALAND.

What Other Theme Parks Are New in Texas?

Texas has added several new theme park attractions in recent years. Universal Kids Resort in Frisco opened this July 1, while Peppa Pig Theme Park Dallas-Fort Worth opened March 1, 2025. Established theme parks have been adding to their impressive lineups. Six Flags Over Texas recently opened Tormenta Rampaging Run, a giga-dive coaster. SeaWorld in San Antonio recently opened Barracuda Strike, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas announced a new coaster for 2027 called Werewolf Gorge.
