Just as soon as you get used to something in Amarillo, it has to change. That is especially true when you are out delivering with DoorDash. They have had several changes over the last several weeks, and I will share all of them in the weeks to come.

The first one I noticed that really caused stress in my life for a time was the missing 'pause' button. If you are out delivering food, your deliveries can take you to other areas to drop off. DoorDash will then, upon drop-off, try to find you more deliveries.

The Stress of Constant App Changes in Amarillo

The problem is sometimes you don't want to pick up in that area. You don't want to necessarily get stuck there picking up and delivering. You want to get back to your familiar area. Your normal area may have better restaurants to deliver from as well, so you don't want to get stuck in different areas of Amarillo.

The Case of the Missing Pause Button

All you had to do in that situation was toggle a little button that said to pause on delivery. That pause button was easily found on the main page after you accepted an order. Then all of a sudden it was missing in action.

So my only option was to hurry to a screen where I could pause the dash as soon as I dropped off food to a customer. That wasn't always easy because after a delivery, DoorDash wants to know how the delivery went. You either hit thumbs up or thumbs down.

Bouncing Through Feedback Screens and Dead Ends

If you pick the thumbs down, now they want to know why. All you can do is hurriedly get through that and hope you haven't been given a new order. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Desperate to get my easy-to-access pause button back, I searched every tab and menu, knowing it had to be hidden somewhere in the app. I know I could just call the support team and ask them, but sometimes that is the worst option. It takes so much time, and sometimes they are not much help.

I watched the topic come up several times on different DoorDash driver social media pages. We all wanted to find that missing button. Finally, someone had the answer. It was still there; you just had to know where to find it.

The Secret Swipe Trick to Get Your Pause Button Back

While it's no secret that delivery apps prefer keeping drivers readily available, hiding the pause button felt like an unnecessary hurdle.

As it turns out, the toggle button is still there; you just have to be using the in-app navigation map and swipe up to reveal it.

Oh, Yet Another Update to the App

Just like DoorDash, to find out people didn't like that change, and after days and days of searching, they decided to change it yet again. This shouldn't be a surprise but after a week of having to swipe up in the maps, I guess there were too many complaints.

Now, the button you need to toggle to pause your orders can be found in a much more obvious spot. It's right there with your list of orders. It's kind of where it was before when you didn't have to hunt.

Whatever they want to do with the button is fine with me, just don't make it so difficult to find. Don't try to trick us into having to take more orders. All I know is that I am so happy to have the little toggle button back.
