The City of El Paso announced that the Great Wolf Lodge resort development project has been canceled due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

The coronavirus outbreak has affected first and foremost hundreds of thousands of people across the world and it’s also having a deep growing impact on the global economy.

According to KVIA, during a telephone conference late last week, City of El Paso officials said that the Great Wolf Lodge resort deal had been nixed and would be re-prioritizing their expansion plans as a result of the economy suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the coronavirus.

The Great Wolf Lodge resort was set to open in 2021 and was supposed to be located in Northwest El Paso just off Interstate 10 at Desert Boulevard North and Paso Del Norte.

Since the project will no longer be happening - City officials will be looking to sell the property or partnering up for another potential opportunity down the road.

Great Wolf Lodge resort is a chain of indoor water parks with multiple water slides, pools, and play areas for families to enjoy including a spa, rope climbing, an arcade and a Build-A-Bear workshop with many more amenities.

Maybe since Great Wolf Lodge backed out, Schlitterbahn Waterpark might want to step in – just an idea.
