Go Fly A Kite At Scenic Drive This Sunday
This Sunday, El Pasoans are invited to have fun, take in the beautiful city views and fly a kite during Scenic Sundays at Scenic Drive.
Fly a kite this Sunday at the top of Scenic Drive, one of the most iconic vistas in El Paso, Texas.
Scenic Drive just celebrated its 100 birthday, and the iconic winding road that skirts around the east side of the Franklin mountains is not only the best place to see the most stunning views of the city but also the perfect place to fly a kite.
This Sunday, members of the Scenic Drive Kite Festival Executive Board and Organizing Committee will be offering some kite-flying tips during this weekend’s event.
Typically Scenic Sundays would include food trucks, vendors, live music, and so much more, but it has been scaled back since the pandemic.
Don’t have a kite? No, problem. Just visit your local dollar store, and you’ll find all different kinds, with different themes for kids and adults, and at $1 each, you can get one for each family member.
The Scenic Drive Kite Festival begins at 7 a.m. until noon up at the top of Scenic Drive during this weekend’s Scenic Sundays.
Scenic Sundays occur every Sunday when Scenic Drive closes to vehicular traffic to allow runners, joggers, walkers, cyclists, and spectators an opportunity to exercise or relax while taking in the panoramic view of the city alongside the Franklin Mountains.
