George Lopez Returning to the El Paso Area, Bringing OMG Hi! Tour to the Pan Am in November
George Lopez is returning to the El Paso-area and bringing the laughs to Las Cruces this fall.
The Grammy-nominated comedian and actor is on the road performing his OMG Hi! Comedy Tour and will be making a stop at the Pan American Center in November. Date and ticket info below.
Lopez Has A Lot of History With the Borderland
Lopez is no stranger to our area having performed in El Paso and Southern New Mexico many times over the years. Last summer he did a sold-out show at Inn of the Mountain Gods in Mescalero, and had the Abraham Chavez Theatre rocking in October when the OMG Hi! Tour first swung through the area.
He also participated in the dedication ceremony and unveiling of the Healing Garden at Ascarate Park on the two-year anniversary of the 2019 Walmart mass shooting last August.
Lopez Charged with Assault in Las Cruces
In 2018, he and Edward James Olmos filmed the movie "Walking with Herb" in the Las Cruces area, and Lopez famously got into some sh** with a guy at the local Hooters.
George was charged with assault after allegedly snatching the dude’s cell phone and grabbing the back of his neck. He told the cops the man had been baiting him all night and was lying in wait to film him.
The charges were eventually dropped when the victim didn’t show up to the court hearing, according to the Las Cruces Sun-News.
