As the start of the school year nears, El Paso families already struggling with inflation will have yet another expense to budget for: back to school.

If you’ve found yourself in a financial crunch, a couple of civic organizations can help lessen the back-to-school burden this Saturday at El Paso’s largest back-to-school event.

El Paso's Largest Back to School Event

The non-profit organization Moms on Board has teamed up with the El Paso Downtown Lions Club for “MOB’s Signature Back to School Event” this Saturday at Ascarate Park.

Families can pick up free school supplies and backpacks that day, and the kids can get a no-cost haircut and/or a physical. The back-to-school bash is open to families from all districts and schools.

The event also doubles as a uniform swap. Parents who traded in their gently-used school uniforms leading up to Saturday can exchange the voucher they received for an equal number of pieces.
