1st Lt. JaLyssa Walker, a former UTEP cheerleader captain currently stationed at Ft. Bliss, got a special surprise during the UTEP-Incarnate Word football game on Saturday night -- a marriage proposal.

During a break in the game, Walker was escorted onto the field by Paydirt Pete to be honored for her service. What she didn’t know at the time was that her boyfriend, Chief Warrant Officer 2nd Class Davion McClain, had disguised himself as the UTEP mascot and he had more than honoring her in mind. McClain wanted to wife her.

At the appropriate time, Davion removed the head to reveal himself to JaLyssa. The look on her face was priceless. Seconds later, Davion got down on bended knee, and the crowd went wild. (She said 'yes'!)

CW2 McClain recently returned from his THIRD deployment in Iraq! Walker broke the Guinness Book of World Records for back flips during halftime of the UTEP-UTSA football game in the Sun Bowl in 2013.
