Things I Learned as a First Time Home Buyer During a Pandemic
All my life I dreamed of being a homeowner. I have saved money right out of high school to be able to do it all on my own.
Finally, in 2020, I was able to make my dream come true, just when a nightmare began for the world.
The El Paso area started closing down places due to the pandemic back in March 2020, which is the same month I closed on my brand new home from a home builder.
As if the stress of possibly catching COVID-19 wasn't enough, I had to deal with understanding mortgages, taxes, homestead exemptions, inspections, home codes from 2015, and fixed interest rates.
Luckily, the money I have saved over the years had my back to allow me to be approved to purchase a home in East El Paso!
Fast forward to 2021 and I have celebrated a year in my house. Sadly, my taxes have already gone up and now I will be joining the rest of El Paso to fight our tax increase.
For those who may be looking or have just moved into your new home, here are a few tips I learned within the first year.
