If you're on Facebook, you’ve probably seen or received a warning on your newsfeed or Inbox not to accept a friendship request from ‘Jayden K. Smith’, don’t bother forwarding it to your friends and family; it’s a hoax.

The message reads, ‘Please tell all the contacts in your Messenger list, not to accept Jayden K. Smith friendship request. He is a hacker and has the system connected to your Facebook account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it. Thanks. Forwarded as received.’

Again, it’s bogus. A form or version of something similar has been spread online for years. It wasn't legit then and it's not legit now.

And you need not worry about anyone hacking your account because you or someone in your contacts friended them. Experts say the only way someone can takeover your Facebook is with your password or a computer virus.
