There's a new music festival on El Paso's festival scene.

It's called the Exit 19 Music Festival, and according to organizers, it's designed to give Borderland music fans an opportunity to see up-and-coming and almost-famous bands headed to and from Austin's annual South by Southwest (SXSW) Festival -- considered to be the largest music festival of its kind in the world.

Upping the cool factor is the fact that the festival, named after the Downtown exit off I-10, will feature mostly free shows.

The inaugural Exit 19 Music Festival will run from March 11 through March 23 and take place at three different venues; Monarch, Boomtown, and The Warszawa. The Monarch and Boomtown shows will all be free of charge, while those at Warszawa will cost anywhere from $5 to $10.

Check out the Exit 19 Music Festival Facebook page for the list of bands and venues.
