Add El Paso’s Khalid to the list of artists whose current tour has been affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

As both fears of contracting COVID-19 and efforts to contain it spreads around the world, many concerts, festivals, and events here in the U.S. and abroad are getting cancelled or postponed.

Khalid’s “Free Spirit World Tour” was scheduled to swing through several Asian cities in the coming weeks, but that plan has been put on hold for now. A statement released on his behalf cited recent advisories and travel restrictions in the region as well as concerns for “the safety of Khalid's fans, his team and everyone who has been working on these concerts.”

The international pop star was set to visit Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Seoul, Mumbai and Bangalore between March 24- April 14. Included in those nine Asia dates was his first ever India performance.

The number of concerts canceled or postponed in the last few weeks because of the global COVID-19 outbreak continues to rise daily.
