El Paso Zoo Celebrating Lions Birthdays with Piñatas & Fun

The El Paso Zoo’s three female lions will enjoy birthday piñatas as special enrichment treats as Zoo guests join together to sing happy birthday to the lions. The community is also invited to watch as El Paso’s pride celebrates their birthdays, and to sing along to the “Happy Birthday” song with staff.

This fun piñata birthday activity will serve as the lion’s enrichment for the day. Animal enrichment is provided to animals to provide mental and physical stimulation in their daily lives. Without a doubt, the lions enjoy piñatas, and this activity will provide a fun and unique experience for them and Zoo visitors.

Rudo, the male lion who was born November 8, 2012 will be turning 3 years old and will also be celebrated during the exhibit.
