A recent news story on KTSM  revealed that a new four story hotel will be built by the airport in East El Paso.

Construction of this new upscale hotel by Westin is set to begin at the end of this year into 2015.

The hotel will have two hundred twenty-two rooms and an eighteen thousand square foot conference center and feature nearly five acres of specialty retail shops, restaurants, entertainment and open air space for music and arts festivals.

The initial term from the city of El Paso is to lease this land to the airport for forty years. The first fifteen years of this operation is expected to add 2.1 billion dollars into El Paso's economy and roughly 44 million dollars in tax revenue.
