El Paso Water announced Tuesday that they would be suspending disconnections for non-payment starting on March 18. The company said they would be reassessing the suspension timeline after 60 days. According to El Paso Water President and CEO John Balliew, the company understands how essential having access to water can be during a pandemic,

"We understand that access to water is essential to prevent the spread of COVID-19. One of the most important safeguards to prevent the spread of virus is handwaashing, and this step will help our customers keep themselves and their families safe and healthy."

If you have been disconnected and need to have your water reconnected, you can email El Paso Water at customer.service@epwater.org or call them at (915) 594-5500. Currently, El Paso Water will not be allowing in-person customer service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers will still be responsible for all charges that are accrued during the suspended disconnection time. For more information, please visit the El Paso Water website.
