El Paso’s Biggest School Uniform Swap Still Happening Despite Back 2 School Event Cancellation

El Paso, Texas parents are getting ready to send their little one’s back to school. As a parent to a growing boy, I know that one of the most expensive parts of back-to-school preparation is making sure my son has all of his school uniforms before school starts.

Back-to-school uniform shopping can sometimes be a financial burden for many families and Mom’s On Board, a local non-profit organization, understands that struggle so every year they provide El Pasoans with their annual uniform swap, the city’s largest event of it’s kind!

A Few Changes To This Year’s Event:

The uniform swap usually takes place during MOB’s annual Back 2 School event however due to unforeseen circumstances, MOB has announced on their Facebook page that their annual Back 2 School event has been canceled. 

The post read: 

“We are saddened to announce that the MOm’s on board Back 2 School event is cancelled for this year. We truly value the support and understanding of our sponsors, partners, and the community.”

However, parents can still participate in the city’s largest uniform swap!

The Largest Uniform Swap In El Paso:

The School Uniform Swap, originally part of the MOB Back to School event, will still take place at the Harley Davidson Dealership on July 20th.

Parents are encouraged to turn in gently used uniforms to any of the locations listed below to receive a voucher. On July 20th, bring your voucher to the dealership and exchange it for uniforms in the sizes you need. This event includes all school districts and charter schools, and early drop-offs on the day of the event are welcome.

The annual Mothers on Board School Uniform Swap is a great way to ease the cost of back-to-school shopping for families with children who require uniforms. Organized in collaboration with the El Paso Downtown Lions Club, this swap is the largest in El Paso and is open to families from all districts and schools.

How To Participate: 

Drop off clean, gently-used uniforms at the locations listed below by July 16th. You'll receive a voucher to exchange for an equal number of pieces at the event on July 20th. 

Donations of polo shirts, pants, shorts, and other school uniform pieces are also welcome at any of the six locations.
