El Paso Sun City Pride Is Bringing Disco Back With This Years Summer Of Pride

Disco isn’t dead! It is alive and well and this Summer you’ll be able to show off your love for Disco throughout June for El Paso Sun City Prides’ 17th Annual Summer of Pride!

“We are ready for you El Paso! It’s that time of year for everyone to come together to show your Pride,” read a post on the organization’s Facebook page.

EP Sun City Pride is a local non-profit organization that’s mission is to increase the LGBT community’s visibility in our community. The organization has been around for over a decade and every year during June they celebrate PRIDE month with events throughout the month.

During the pandemic PRIDE month events were put on hold and then gradually made a comeback but this year the organization is excited to bring back in-person events for the whole community to enjoy!

“We have been working very hard to bring you the BEST Summer of Pride yet! Also, we’re back DOWNTOWN where it all began,” read a post on the organization's Facebook page.

This year’s theme for Summer of PRIDE 2022 is “Disco Edition” and the organization will be having special events every Saturday throughout the month of June.

The list of events will begin on Saturday, June 4th with PRIDE night at the El Paso Locomotives game.

The following Saturday, June 11th, people are invited to spend the afternoon at Ardivino’s Desert Crossing for the organization's  “Grow WIth Us- A Queer Market.”

Saturday, June 18th, will be the organization's PrideFest celebration which took place in east El Paso last year at Rave nightclub, but this year the organization is excited to be back at their home in Downtown El Paso at 301 S. Ochoa St.

“Join us for all of these festivities, especially the festival as a - Pride STREET FEST this year with indoor and outdoor festivities, many local artists, local organizations, a food court, art installations, and an extra groovy VIP experience,” read a post on the organization’s Facebook page.

Details on performers and guests of honor for this year’s PrideFest have not yet been announced, but the organization is encouraging people to share with them who they would like to see perform on the main stage this year.

The annual Pride Parade will take place the following Saturday, June 25th followed by Chihuahua’s Pride Night on Saturday, June 30th, and Summer of Pride will wrap up on July 3rd with the Wet N’ Wild Splash party.
