El Paso Sheriff’s Office Looking for Man in Connection With a Deadly Hit-And-Run Accident
The driver of a tractor trailer was killed in a hit-and-run earlier this year, and the El Paso Sheriff's Office is asking for your help in finding the driver who fled the scene.
Aires J. Kar was driving a semitruck on I-10 East near Eastlake Blvd. on January 3rd when he was hit by Uriel Anchondo who lost control of his Honda Civic. The Civic hit a rail and bounced back on the road and right in the path of the semi.
Kar tried to avoid the Civic, but he also lost control of his vehicle. Kar was then rushed to the hospital, but died later of his injuries. Sheriff's officials say Anchondo fled the scene of the crash on foot.
A warrant is out for Anchondo’s arrest for an accident causing death. His bond was preset at $100,000.
Anchondo has been indicted on charges of Accident Involving Death, Manslaughter and Accident Involving Injury and has a bond amount totaling $700,000.
If you know the whereabouts of Anchondo, call the El Paso County Sheriff's Office at (915) 546-2280.
