El Paso Police Pursuit of Stolen Ambulance Caught on Video
Some GTA San Andreas kind of shiz went down in far west El Paso and a couple of El Pasoans happened to be at the right place at the right time to film their own LIVE PD-type situation.
El Paso police say 27-year old Tevyn Traivon Reed jacked a Life Ambulance from the Hospitals of Providence Trans Mountain Campus on Monday (1/14) and began to drive it over Trans Mountain with emergency lights on.
Officers spotted the vehicle moments later and gave chase, according to a department press release, but the suspect refused to stop, driving into the Outlet Shoppes parking lot instead.
As luck would have it, a DPS trooper responding to an assist call from another trooper involved in an unrelated foot pursuit in the same area rolled up on the car chase as Reed was attempting to head back onto Trans Mountain.
ABC7 reports the Department of Public Safety officer “disabled the ambulance with his weapon” bringing the joyride to a stop.
Reed, from Seminole, Texas, now faces multiple charges including theft of property, and Evading Arrest or Detention with Vehicle. It's not known if he was a patient at the hospital or just someone who took advantage of the situation to attempt a real life GTA Paramedic Sub-Mission.
