El Paso Organizations Holding Overdose Awareness Day Event

Region 10 - Rise Up Task Force is inviting the El Paso community to learn more about opioid misuse during International Overdose Day.

The Prevention Resource Center - Region 10 in collaboration with Rio Grande Safe Communities Coalition, Advocates for Prevention Coalition and the Region 10 - Rise Up Task Force will hold the event on Thursday, August 31, 2017, recognizing those lost to an overdose.

According to Rise Up Task Force, there were over 63 overdose deaths due to opioids in El Paso. The event will provide educational information about the dangers of prescription medication misuse and will host speakers, testimonials, treatment and the current epidemic of Hep C in El Paso County. The event is free and open to the public.
