If you haven't been to the Bronco Swap Meet in the lower valley then you've really missed a big part of El Paso history and culture. You can buy pretty much anything at the Bronco - clothes, things for your home, furniture, even food and groceries. It's a great place to hang out and spend some money, but it might be a while before it's back up to full speed after a rather serious fire this weekend.

The fire damaged a portion of the Bronco in the 8400 block of Alameda just before midnight Saturday at its landmark location. The El Paso Fire Department was called out when the fire was reported. It took 11 units and 18 firefighters thirty minutes to put the blaze our. Fire Department officials said the fire was at a commercial building inside the Bronco.

The good news is that there were no injuries reported, and although there were no details released on the extent of damage, the Bronco was open for business as usual on Sunday. There were several small sheds that were destroyed by the fire. Fire investigators are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
