Hospitals are in the business of saving lives, but to do that, they sometimes need blood and blood products. They can't manufacture blood, they need to get it from people. That's where you come in to help out the Hospitals of Providence Blood Bank.

Providence put out a call for blood platelet donations. Those blood platelet donations will go toward helping adult and pediatric oncology and neo-natal patients. Providence says the blood platelets are a lifesaving product, so you know this is an urgent call for action. You can donate if you are 17 years old, weigh more than 110 pounds, and are healthy.

You can make an appointment by calling Robin Murphy at (915) 577-6676, or Elisa Camacho at (915) 577-7305. You can donate from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., but you do need to make an appointment.
