El Paso High School Named ‘Most Beautiful’ High School in Texas
Way to go Tigers! El Paso High School has been named the most beautiful high school in Texas according to Aceable.
Aceable is the first-ever mobile app for state-approved drivers-ed and defensive driving in America who rounded up the most beautiful high schools in our great state of Texas.
Actually, if you take a close look at the list, two schools from El Paso made the list. Coming in at #22 was El Paso Community College’s Transmountain Early College High School which is located in North East El Paso. It's not only nestled by the Franklin Mountains but is the third best early college high school in the nation according to the American Association of Community Colleges.
Meanwhile, El Paso High School came in at #1. I am proud to say that I am a graduate of this beautiful and magnificent school. Nicknamed ‘The Lady on the Hill,’ the school was built by the architectural firm of Trost & Trost. The Greco-Roman style school features marble and porcelain bathrooms and hard maple wooden floors in its classrooms and was built at a cost of about $500,000 back in 1916, which would cost today about $11,481,796. Not only is El Paso High one of the most beautiful schools around but its football field was named one of the “high school stadiums to see before you die” by MaxPreps.com. Most recently, El Paso High School celebrated its Centennial with class reunions, parties, and a shot at breaking the Guinness World Records for the largest high school reunion in October of 2016.
