El Paso Health Department Dealing With Another Possible Tuberculosis Exposure
The City of El Paso Department of Public Health is investigating another case of possible tuberculosis expose, this time at an east El Paso adult day care. Officials say that more than 100 people at the the Desert Heaven Adult Daycare were exposed to an active case of TB as early as last June. So far 130 day care clients and staff members have been tested to determine if anyone has an active or infectious form of the disease.
Not all the people who need to be tested have been, however. About 50 people still need to be tested, but officials say they don't know where they are. A hotline has been set up for those whose contact information has changed, so if you or a family member worked at or were a client of the Desert Heaven Adult Daycare center last year between June 1 and Dec. 31 and have not yet been tested, you are asked to call 212-6609 to set up an appointment.
