El Paso Easter Tradition Returns, NorthEaster Parade Sets 2023 Date
The date is set for the 45th Annual NorthEaster Parade.
Sponsored by the Transmountain Optimists, the annual live procession of floats, marching bands, classic cars, beauty queens, and oversized Shriners driving under-sized cars will roll through Northeast El Paso on the Saturday morning before Easter Sunday.
2023 Grand Marshal
This year’s grand marshal is Wayne Thornton.
Thornton, who grew up on Fort Bliss and went to Burges, spent 43 years with the city of El Paso’s Parks and Recreation Department before retiring in 2020.
In February, City Council unanimously approved renaming Grandview Senior Center in Central El Paso to Wayne Thornton Community Center at Grandview.
