How would you like to spend your next date night enjoying an oregano vinaigrette salad with avocados and cottage cheese. The next course is Argentinian Empanadas filled with ground meat, olives, hard boiled eggs and bell peppers, and then round out the meal with alfajores filled with dulce de leche and coconut. Sounds fabulous doesn't it? How about if you learned how to make that meal before you ate it? If you love to cook like I do, this is the perfect date night.

LET'S GO DOWNTOWN
The Texas Culinary Institute is in downtown El Paso, another reason why I love this concept, and they have cooking classes not only for a date night but also for kids and even for spring break. Their website says they offer cooking courses that focus on international, regional and seasonal cuisine and reading about their upcoming workshops make me want to sign up for all of them.

WHAT CAN YOU LEARN?
During their Kids Spring Break Camp, kids ages 8-15 can learn how to make spaghetti and meatballs, crepes, and even sushi. In the Artisan Bread and Pastry class bake pastries and artisan breads from scratch. I'm drooling. Seriously. I'm going to need a bib.

HOW DO YOU TAKE THESE FABULOUS CLASSES?
You can click here to check out the Texas Culinary Institute website and click through all their upcoming classes. The best thing about these classes is that students at the Institute prepare the ingredients you will use and you can BYOB, as long as you're of age, of course. Cooking, downtown, BYOB, eating. Yup. I'm drooling.
