El Paso County Sheriff’s Unit Featured on A&E’s ‘American Takedown’

Tonight, July 30, the television channel A&E will feature the El Paso County Sherriff's Border Crimes Initiative in an episode of its dramatic new cop series, "American Takedown."

The docuseries details a variety of investigations into illegal activities by specialized tactical law enforcement units across the U.S. According to the show's website, the El Paso installment titled "Border Crimes" will focus on the Border Crimes Initiative's takedown of a narcotics stash house.

BCI is part of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division and was created to deal with drug trafficking and other illegal contraband that travels into the U.S. from Mexico, and the currency its illegal trade tries to smuggle back into Mexico.

"Border Crimes" premieres tonight at 8 p.m. on A&E. The episode will repeat at 12 midnight.
