El Paso Community Gyms Temporarily Close to Refinish Floors

Three gymnasiums will close temporarily so that the City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department can refinish the floors during the month of June.

The Parks and Recreation Department refinishes gymnasium floors once a year to extend the life of the floor. This year the gym at the Galatzan Recreation Center, 650 Wallenberg Dr. and the Marty Robbins Recreation Center, 11620 Vista Del Sol, will be closed through this Sunday, June 12 while the gym at the Acosta Sports Center, 4321 Delta, will be closed on Wednesday June 29 and will re-open on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. The gyms will remain closed while the floor is being re-striped, refinished and varnished.

All programs, activities and group rentals will be relocated during the closures. For more information call the Parks and Recreation Department at (915) 212-0092.
