El Paso Cheer Team to Perform at 2022 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

An El Paso cheer team will be a part of the 96th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Cheer Force Athletics will be representing the city of El Paso at the annual holiday parade this year. The cheerleading organization earned the opportunity by taking top honors at the 14th Annual UTEP Cheerleading Competition this past February.

They will be the third cheer program to represent the Sun City and perform in front of the hundreds of thousands of people who line the Thanksgiving Day Parade route in New York City and the millions more who watch the annual holiday parade on television.

Last year the University of Texas at El Paso Dance Team and the UTEP Cheer Team participated in the famed parade -- a first for a Miners dance and cheer squad.

The CFA athletes will march the 2.5-mile parade route and perform a specially choreographed routine. But it won't be all work and no play for them. Hey, it's New York City, after all.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience will include sightseeing, some parade-related activities, and attending the “Christmas Spectacular” starring the iconic Rockettes at the legendary Radio City Music Hall.

The 2022 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade airs nationwide on NBC-TV, Thursday, November 24, from 7:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mountain Standard Time.
