In the new HBO Max remake of the Nickelodeon television show, El Paso actor Maeve Garay, 14, is set to play Victoria Camacho Garcia, a granddaughter of Sonia and Ray Garcia, and she's got some advice for El Pasoans bit by the acting bug.

Airing from 2000 to 2004, The Brothers Garcia was one of the first English language sitcoms to feature an all Latino cast.

According to Variety, in the early 2000s, “The Brothers Garcia was a hit on Nickelodeon; that show depicted a loving Latino family in San Antonio anchored by the dynamic between squabbling brothers."

Stephanie Valles from KVIA Channel 7 News sat down with the young actor and asked her about her experience filming the show for a large distributor like HBO and what it would be about.

In an interview with ktsm.com, she shares her thoughts and advice for anyone interested in acting,

“Do as much as you can. If you are a passionate actor like myself, then go out for like drama club, and go and do theater, which I did in school is U.I.L. it’s called Reader’s Theater and it was really fun, so like I said if you can’t go out to L.A., then go and try and work on local stuff and try to get acting classes,” Garay said.
