Edward James Olmos, George Lopez Visit El Paso, Spend Time with Walmart Shooting Survivors
As our city continues to heal after the heartless mass shooting at the Cielo Vista Walmart, celebrities with ties to El Paso maintain their love, support, and well wishes.
The latest stars to stand with El Paso were George Lopez and Edward James Olmos who flew in to visit with the survivors and their families at University Medical Center.
UMC spokesman Ryan Mielke briefed the El Paso Times on Olmos and Lopez’s time at the hospital.
Mielke said the two stars pulled up chairs next to those injured by the shooting and just listened to what they had to say for hours. They were also introduced to hospital staff who first responded and tended to the injuries victims had after the shooting, he added.
A published report also had them visiting Del Sol Medical Center and the makeshift memorial behind the Walmart where the shooting took place. Each was also photographed at a local restaurant – Olmos at Zona Centro downtown and Lopez at L & J Café.
