Cher was forced to cancel several Las Vegas shows this past weekend citing an illness, but her health issue won’t affect her tour date this Friday, March 6, in El Paso.

Jorge Vazquez, Executive Director of the UTEP Special Events Center, assured me she won’t be scraping the show. “We had a call to advance the show Friday and everything is going as planned,” he said via email.

The legendary performer alerted fans to an upper respiratory illness on Twitter, at one point posting a photo of a tissue box with the caption, “Drs Have Given Me EVERY COLD,FLU,VIRUS MED Known To Man,But Could Build Small Room With Empty (tissue boxes)."

Although she hasn’t given an update on her health since Friday, Feb. 28, Vasquez doesn’t want ticket-holders to worry. “Everything is set for [a Cher] concert on Friday.”

Nile Rogers and Chic is Cher’s opening act. The group is best known for their 70s output of disco songs, including "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)," "Le Freak," and "Good Times".
