Desert Oak Barbecue Moo-ves Over to Cowtown Location
HOLY COW!
One of El Paso's most famous barbecue restaurants is saying goodbye to one location and opening up another.
Desert Oak Barbecue recently said a bittersweet goodbye to their Zaragoza location. This is where I first met them and tried their delicious food and amazing banana pudding.
Our very own Steve Kaplowitz introduced them to me during one of our events, Taste of El Paso.
Oh, how I miss those types of food events.
As Desert Oak continues to receive so much love for their food and even a billboard on I-10, it is great to see another amazing local restaurant grow into a fancy new location.
What is great about this location, in my opinion, is it is right off of I-10. I am one of those who will easily get off I-10 to take some food home when I am just too tired to cook.
Desert Oak Barbecue will still have two locations open, one on Rich Beem and now this one at the Cowtown location.
No idea if they will be expanding outside of El Paso anytime soon, but it seems like they have the talent and recipes to do so.
The Desert Oak Barbecue team having been giving some sneak peeks to the new place on their social media accounts. If you have been following them, then you know they are already hinting at a grand opening on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022.
El Paso is home to many delicious barbecue restaurants like Rib Hut, Desert Oak and Johnny's Pit Barbecue, so it is great to see when one of them thrives from the love of the city.
