If sacks of mudbugs, Low-Country Boils, and messy eating is your kind of dining out scene then you’re going to love the newest restaurant to open in west El Paso.

The Dallas-based chain The Crab Station - Oyster Bar, which up to now has been a mostly Dallas and Houston area thing, has brought its crab-centric menu options to our little corner of the desert. One of its first West Texas locations is now open at the West Towne Marketplace on the far west side.

The restaurant specializes in crab dishes and crawfish served many ways including by the "sacks". Oyster is also very prominent on the menu -- which you'd expect what with it being part of its name.

Crab Station also gets major props for their mix of Cajun spice. In fact, the New Orleans influence is prominent throughout its menu. Diners can also get gumbo, seafood chowder, and sides like Cajun fries, dirty rice, and sausage. A full bar and happy hour offerings are part of the mix as well, according to its Facebook.

The restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. It's located in the same shopping center the huge Walmart on the far west side is, at 6450 N. Desert Blvd.
