This Saturday, May 2, 2015, the City of El Paso’s Environmental Services Department (ESD) will be taking part in the Great American Cleanup.

The Great American Cleanup is a national event, developed by Keep America Beautiful, and is the country’s largest organized cleanup, beautification, and community improvement program, built on a foundation of individual responsibility and civic pride.

Last year more than 20,000 communities all across America volunteered their time and energy to make a difference in their respective communities.

There will be a total of 33 cleanup sites located throughout El Paso this year and at 27 of these sites, there will be roll-off trash containers where citizens can dispose of large and bulky items such as mattresses, furniture or lawn trash. Citizens may call 3-1-1 or visit for times and clean-up locations in their area.

Roll-off dumpsters will not be accepting the following items:

  • Tires
  • Household hazardous waste materials (paint, motor oil, and chemicals)
  • E-waste (cell phones, appliances, computers, etc.)
  • Batteries of any kind

Stations will be open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Residents must provide an ID and a water bill to access the facilities.

Citizen Collection Station locations:

  • Northeast – 4501 Hondo Pass
  • Central – 2492 Harrison
  • Westside – 121 Atlantic
  • Eastside – 1034 Pendale
