If you've been to Chico's Tacos lately you've probably noticed your order of "tacos" is no longer being served in the red and white paper boats like they've been for decades.

The legendary rolled flautas floating in tomato sauce and covered with what many jokingly refer to as government cheese now come in all-white cardboard boats.

This is what the old ones looked like.

This is what the new thicker, sturdier boats look like.

The inscription on them reads “Chico’s Tacos. An El Paso Tradition”

And like the soupy concoction itself, El Pasoans either love them or hate them.
