Adventurous Chef Stops By El Paso to Eat All the BBQ He Can

Texas BBQ is something out-of-towners plan their vacation around. Here in El Paso, we have some tasty local spots that have become some visitors' must-stop restaurants.

From Rib Hut to State Line, our city has many choices but one restaurant continues to receive love from some celebrity chefs.

Desert Oak BBQ was recently the playground for Chef David W Olson. Chef Olsen runs Live Fire Republic, a website and social media account that is recognized for highlighting amazing food, recipes, and organizations.

No surprise Chef Olsen stopped by Desert Oak BBQ while in El Paso, Texas to attempt to eat all the BBQ he can. Desert Oak's Richard Funk brought out his best dishes for Chef Olsen to showcase and it looks like Chef Olsen enjoyed everything.

Seriously, receiving a social media shoutout from an award-winning chef is pretty impressive. We have seen Guy Fieri stop by Desert Oak, so we know this isn't the first appreciation post/show from a famous chef.

What makes Chef Olsen's post more meaning full is how he mentions the people, the connection he made with the employees is what "the lone star state is all about."

The Sun City has been known to welcome visitors with open arms and plates of delicious food. It is nice to see El Paso's reputation continues to be a positive one from those excited to visit. Hopefully, more social media adventurers will be making their way to continue to highlight El Paso's awesomeness. We know we will.
