If you're in the market for a new place to live, but you don't want to mess with a yard or upkeep on a traditional home, and you don't want to live in a cookie cutter apartment complex, you need to check out the Downtown Living Tour.

The tour gives you the chance to check out seven modern residential developments, grab some tasty food samples from a variety of downtown restaurants, and win great prizes. The best thing, of course, is walking through some amazing, unique downtown residential buildings.

The buildings you can scout out on Saturday, April 7th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. are:

The 501 - Units in the 501 come with washers and dryers, refrigerated air, granite countertops, upscale appliances, and 9 ft. ceilings.

Abdou Building - The Abdou, at 115 N. Mesa and Texas, is an almost 110 year old building that has been renovated and includes eight large apartments.

Essex Alley - Located at 513 W. San Antonio, Essex Alley residents can park at the Union Plaza Transit Terminal across the street. Parking is accessible to residents 24 hours a day. The units come equipped with wood style flooring, stainless steel appliances and modern kitchens with quartz countertops.

Franklin Avenue Apartments - If you've been to the downtown ballpark, you've probably seen the Franklin Avenue Apartments. They are right down the street from the ballpark, and has one, two, and three bedroom apartment homes with all the modern features. There is on-site parking and they are family-friendly. 617 W. Martin Lofts @ ElectriCity - If you've seen the cool ElectriCity sign at 215 N. Stanton in downtown El Paso, you should see the 40 urban lofts that have modern design elements with carefully preserved classic architecture.

Roderick Artspace Lofts - There are 51 affordable live/work units for artists and their families with 5,000 square feet of multi-purpose nonprofit commercial space. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 5th. Tickets purchased between March 5th and April 1 are $15. Tickets purchased April 2-6 are $20. Tickets purchased the day of the event are $25.
