Long time musicians of Brown Betty will be performing their last show as a band tonight at the season finale of Cool Canyon Nights.

Tonight Thursday, July 27, 2017 will be the season finale of Cool Canyon Nights at McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre and with the season’s end also comes one of El Paso’s staple band’s last show. Brown Betty who got their start back in 2005 has pretty much played all over the city and will be disbanding after tonight’s show. The band consists of the same originally band members including Mike Castillo, Adrian Esparza and Rob Pounds.

Brown Betty isn’t just a band, it was a brotherhood for these guys but as all good things, this too must come to an end. When I spoke to Castillo over the phone and asked if this was truly the end for Brown Betty, Castillo responded, “We decided to take a much needed break, for how long - I don’t know, we’ll see what happens down the road.” There you have it – we may not be hearing from Brown Betty for a while but the possibility of them getting back together may not be totally out of the question.

Join us out at Cool Canyon Nights at McKelligon Canyon as we kick it off at 6 p.m. with Locomotion followed by Brown Betty last performance and you may want to get there early to guarantee yourself a seat.
