Another Mural Goes Up For The El Paso Victims’ of 08/19
El Paso and Phoenix artists create a new mural for the victims’ of the mass shootings that occurred in El Paso on August 3, 2019.
Gabe Vasquez who originally created the El Paso Strong mural off of Cotton St. teamed up with two other artists from Phoenix to create a new mural located near the site of the mass shootings.
The mural depicts La Virgen de Guadalupe and a dove carrying an olive branch with the inscription, ‘Lord make us instruments of peace’.
Vasquez approached the two artists Lucy and Diana while they were visiting El Paso and struck up a conversation and soon found themselves creating this mural to honor the victims.
The beautiful mural can be found at two locations in El Paso. The first is located at 1006 Wall St, which is right across the freeway from where the mass shootings took place while the other mural is located at 6817 Market Ave.
