I recently came across a post talking about a restaurant in Las Vegas serving up tortas, hotdog burgers, Chico's-style flautas, Menudo, burritos and much more inspired by the borderland.

Juarez El Paso Border Food is a family-owned business that opened in 2009 when the owner, born and raised in Juarez and El Paso, Texas, moved to Las Vegas and decided to open up a restaurant featuring homemade family recipes.

It's no secret that El Paso is home to some of the most authentic Mexican cuisine around. But, of course, we El Pasoans already know what celebrity chefs and the rest of the world are barely discovering; El Paso and Juarez's Mexican restaurants serve up some seriously delicious Mexican cuisine.

The decor features shirts from local high schools on display hanging from the ceiling, murals of the El Paso star on the mountain, and the cathedral in Juarez, along with street signs and other local touches.

It's been a hot minute since I've been to Las Vegas, but I can't wait to go and try out this gem of a restaurant where I can satiate my craving for a torta or Chuco dog with a side of crinkly fries doused in ketchup and chile.
