A New Food Court Is Opening In Downtown El Paso
Downtown El Paso restaurants are getting a boost from the City and the Downtown Management District to make grabbing a bite to eat in the center of the city easy and accessible.
The Fresh Air Food Court pilot program is an 18 day program to help brick and mortar food service businesses by allowing patrons to go to a downtown restaurant for a meal and then sit in fresh air seating on Mills at Mesa. With so many people wanting to return to restaurants now that the stay at home orders are being relaxed more and more, this is a great way to do just that and enjoy the scenery of San Jacinto Plaza and our historic downtown buildings.
Many restaurants want to be able to up their seating capacity as restrictions allow but because of social distancing requirements they haven't been able to. The Fresh Air Food Court will offer you the chance to get your favorite meal from your favorite downtown restaurant and not have to go home or eat in your car to enjoy it.
Hours for the Fresh Air Food Court are 4 p.m. beginning Thursday, June 18th, and running daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sunday, July 5th. This would be a lot of fun for Father's Day this weekend and a great way to surprise your whole family with an outing and a meal.
There are a few things to know before you go:
Wait to be seated
Seating is for customers only – 90 minute time limit
Only parties of 6 or fewer allowed
No tipping
Maintain a minimum of 6 feet between parties
Wear a face coverings when possible
No smoking
You'll need to dispose of your trash
I think this is a great idea and a great way to get out and about in downtown El Paso again.
