It's National Beer day and all of us over 21 rejoice! Now here are more reasons to have a drink every now and then. It's actually not as bad as we think.

Of course beer, like any other food or beverage we put in our bodies should be taken in recommended quantities. When it is consumed the correct way it can have some health benefits.

    Usually wine gets all the credit for being healthy, in reality, beer has more antioxidants than wine. And it is packed with protein and Vitamin B. Beer also contains phosphates, iron, calcium and fiber. If you're going to drink an alcoholic beverage might as well be one packed with good stuff for you.

    Studies have shown that if you are a woman and have one alcoholic beverage a day, there are signs of less cognitive impairment and less decline in cognitive function compared to women who stay away from alcoholic beverages all together. Cheers!

    A study once again shows that moderate drinking can actually decrease your chances of heart attack, stroke and heart disease by approximately 31%. These are all taken into quantity consideration, but if you can limit yourself, beer has some good qualities.

    You can beer batter almost anything, fish, fries, marinades for steaks, chili beans additive, beer makes it all super yummy and adds some vitamin B and fiber. It's a win-win.

    You read that right, and it's not just beer goggles I'm talking about that make your locks look better. The new hair stylist rage is all about using German or Belgian flat beer as a rinse while in the shower. It adds tons of volume and takes the frizz away. Happy showering!
