5 Things You Absolutely Have To Have On Hand For Thanksgiving
This year the holidays are finally going to be a little more normal than they were last year. Families will still have to decide if they are going to have a big gathering or not but for the most part, it looks like that weird 2020 online Thanksgiving is a thing of the past. No matter how you are going to be celebrating Thanksgiving, here are a couple of nice touches that will help make the day a little more special:
1. Candles or flowers - You can't do both because they compete with each other. Either put out a ton of inexpensive tea lights everywhere or put out bowls filled with a few blooms floating on water. Forget the expensive vases because things are a little more chill than that nowadays. You can snip off the blooms of a cheap bunch of supermarket flowers and float them. They're pretty and should cost less than $20. If you don't want to use tea lights, get a pack of inexpensive pillar candles and group them on plain dinner plates. They're pretty and you can use them even after Thanksgiving is over.
2. Plastic containers - When you want to give your guest some leftovers there is nothing worse than finding out that you have to give them your "good" plastic containers. Go to the dollar store and get containers there. They are cheap and it won't matter if they never make it back to your house.
3. Guest towels - People are going to need to pee, it's just the way it is. A damp hand towel is seriously yucky, so get paper guest towels. They look super posh and you can pick them up inexpensively where you get paper napkins. They look so fancy and they are a lot more hygienic than a terry cloth towel that everyone else has used.
4. Sugar cubes - Ok, bear with me. I know this seems a little silly but putting sugar cubes in your coffee is so posh and so easy to pull off. They come in a box where the regular sugar is, you put it in a clear bowl by the coffee maker and voila, super fancy coffee. It also cuts down on spilled sugar on your counters and floors and it is just a sweet touch to the coffee at the end of the meal.
