10 Places in El Paso That Would’ve Been Great to Hang Out On 4/20 If I Had Remembered to Post This On Time
Look, I was gonna drop this list on 4/20. I really was. Had it in my drafts and everything. But then I got... uh... “busy.” You know, caught up in life’s little distractions. Anyway, now it’s a few days later and the vibe might be slightly expired, but hey, every day can be a chill day if you believe hard enough. So here’s a list of ten iconic El Paso hangout spots that would’ve been perfect to celebrate a very specific, totally legal kind of holiday. Wink.

1. Joe Vinny & Bronsons Café
This is the spot if your “allergies” are acting up and you need a safe, bohemian place to vibe. The coffee’s good, the 4/20 fries are elite, and nobody's gonna question your red eyes. They’ve seen things. They understand.
2. Scenic Drive
Roll those windows down and let that desert breeze carry away... your stress. Yeah, stress. The view of Juárez and El Paso from up there is top-tier, especially when you’ve just finished some, uh, deep breathing exercises.

3. McKelligon Canyon
Beautiful, quiet, and just isolated enough to enjoy a peaceful moment with nature and a suspiciously loud Bluetooth speaker. Just don’t let your “picnic” items fly off the cliff when the wind picks up.
4. Park Somewhere With a View of the Star on the Mountain
The vibes are immaculate. Pull up, play some Tame Impala or Bone Thugs (your choice), recline that seat, and contemplate life, the cosmos, or whether you already ate that whole bag of chips.
5. Transmountain Drive
Get elevated in more ways than one. This drive is breathtaking and slightly terrifying if you're the kind of person who gets reflective during high altitudes... emotionally, I mean.

6. San Jacinto Plaza
It has trees. It has benches. It has a hot dog cart. It has fake alligators. What more could you possibly need? It's like a mini nature documentary set in the middle of downtown. Ideal place to vibe and giggle at pigeons.
7. Old Mesilla, NM
Okay, it’s a bit of a drive, but if you somehow legally ended up in New Mexico, Mesilla is a dream. Adobe buildings, cool little shops, and a restaurant with parrots just vibing mid-dining room. When the sun hits the pueblo walls just right, it's basically a cinematic masterpiece.
8. Food King
If you know, you know. The hot food counter at Food King is chaotic good. Tamales, fried chicken, beans, rice — it’s like a buffet for people who accidentally skipped lunch... and dinner... and time.
9. NEEP Collective
Outdoor bar? Check. Live music? Check. Food trucks? Check. A diverse group of locals low-key pretending they’re not that hungry while hovering around the birria taco truck? Checkmate.

10. Your Couch
At the end of the day, nothing beats the comfort of home. Dominos Stuffed crust exists now. You don’t even have to move. Just hit that “reorder” button and melt into your couch while watching cartoons you swore you didn’t still love.
Alright, I promise I’ll be more punctual next year... probably. Or I’ll at least write the article before I decide to spend 45 minutes staring at a lava lamp. Either way, keep it chill, El Paso.
