Our news partners at KVIA are reporting that 24 year old Specialist Mitchell Kirk Daehling, and 24 year old Specialist William Joseph Gilbert were killed in an IED attack Tuesday in Afghanistan.

Spc. Daehling was from Dalton, Massachusetts, and Spc. Gilbert was from California.

Both men were assigned to Fort Bliss’ 3rd Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division.

Earlier this month, five soldiers from Fort Bliss were killed in Afghanistan.  Please, please, please, say a prayer for all our men and women in uniform.

Our hearts are broken for the Fort Bliss community and the families and friends of the soldiers lost.  May those brave men rest in peace.
