Construction crews are working around the clock to complete the brand new multi million dollar downtown ballpark that will be the home of the El Paso Chihuahuas.
For a while now, we've been getting dribs and drabs of 'mean girl' type emails written by various local city government officials, primarily City Manager Joyce Wilson. The press has been panting over what a meanie Ms. Wilson is, but I think it's time for everyone to grow up and get over themselves.

For years, there had been rumors of a lost opportunity to bring Six Flags to El Paso, but there has never really been confirmation that there was ever a serious chance at having one here. But it's fun to wonder what might have been if Six Flags had come to El Paso. It's even more fun to wonder what might have happened to our city if a lot of other opportunities in past had been taken.....

Well, he had us on pins and needles for a couple of days, but Mayor John Cook finally answered the 'will he or won't he' question about the Downtown Ballpark.
I was at El Paso City Council yesterday for most of the public comments, and even had a crack at the podium myself. So, did I crack open the champagne last night? Nope. Not yet. I'm still waiting on the Mayor to decide which way he is going to vote!
